Kimi's kitchen remedies for the winter blues:

Raw Unpasteurized Apple Cider Vinegar

This can be used to catch fruit flies in the summer months, or detox...We used to take a shot before vegan meals on raw cleanses at my old studio.  3 day juice cleanses/detoxes are complimented well with vinegar and water or just straight can add baking soda to chase the bitter if needed.

  • For indigestion, reflux,
  •  – 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon in a glass of water as needed.
  • For cough/cold/flu – 1 tablespoon in a mug of hot water. Stir in 1 tablespoon of Honey.
  • For blemishes or hormonal skin...a light mist toner

Raw Honey

Honey has antiviral, antibacterial & immense healing properties.

I put honey on wounds & scratches.  I put honey in a teaspoon when my kids are sick.   It's a great sweetener in tea, on pancakes, etc.

Garlic is a natural antibiotic, antiviral and anti-fungal. Mix a mashed up clove with honey!

Add garlic to your chicken noodle soup when your sick...will help nip your symptoms faster.

I love TURMERIC!  I make an elixir a few times per week with lemon and cayenne!  Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and has so many wonderful health benny's.  My fave spice!

Cayenne Pepper

(use 1/4 teaspoon cayenne in 1/4 cup water for sore throat) Gargle and spit.  Helps with pain and helps nip infection.

Cold Feet?  Sprinkle some in your socks before a ski to keep your tootsies warm!

Cayenne stings if put on a cut but will stop bleeding...if put on a cut

I love mixing cayenne with warm lemon water before bed...nice natural detox elixir.

Baking Soda (Sodium Bicarbonate)

Great skin exfoliate or add in toothpaste for whitening.

Baking soda and a few drops of water are good for insect bites.

A baking soda-BATH is cheap and soothing.  I like to add clove oil for a nice soothing scent before I turn in.

Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen Peroxide is cheap and you probably have some in your medicine cabinet!

Its a great ear cleaner for kiddos. (3%)

You can drop it in a nebulizer or steam for a good breathing treatment.

It's a great pain free way to clean a cut before putting on a band aid.

Castor Oil

A great natural face moisturizer for dry skin.  Gentle and fragrance free.
