This is your song

We often hear, live your truth, tell your story, share your "story", we are all story tellers to some degree aren't we?  Writing the chapters as we flow along day by day..."This is your song" (Ellie Gouldings) gorgeous version, came on today in my kitchen as I, again, unpack and re-set as a single mama with three in my flock.

I started to weap a little...because I realized I am not writing a story at all...I am composing a song and this song reminded me of my own...my song isn't perfect and it isn't without pain or sorrow but it is through the pain that my life grows and my journey blossoms.  Through my roadblocks and mistakes I found transformation and true love...SELF LOVE.  People I loved, left me in the shadows and judged me, but it taught me to be even kinder and more compassionate and it also taught me that sometimes karma is so quiet...no one even notices it...I notice it.

I notice it's gifts and lessons every day now and I see it everywhere.

New people sprinkled into my life like sprinkles on a cupcake when other toppings fell to the wayside.  I love all my sprinkles and I cherish each one for bringing different wonderfulness to my life. Sprinkle me up!

God keeps sprinkling until the icing is ready to hold and stick to the ones it needs.  Tastebuds change.  I used to like red velvet but now I am more of a rainbow marble cake lover.  (gluten free, of course:) lol.  Soften your icing and let some pretty sprinkles light you up and then enjoy.

"It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide, I
Don't have much money but boy, if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

If I was a sculptor but then again, no
Or a man who makes potions in a traveling show
Oh, I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song
And this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world

I sat on the roof and kicked up the moss
Well, a few of the verses, well, they've got me quite cross
But the sun's been quite kind
While I wrote this song
It's for people like you that
Keep it turned on

So excuse me forgetting
But these things, I do
You see, I've forgotten
If they're green or they're blue
Anyway, the thing is, what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but
Now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind
That I put down in words
How wonderful life is while you're in the world"
